Southwest is having a 40% off sale on all their flights. Starting today (06/07) until the end of Thursday (06/09). We began our coverage last night, before the sale was officially announced. Those fares that we already mentioned are still available, but expect prices and availability to fluctuate greatly.

In this post, we’ll provide a list of every fare that we’re seeing that is priced below (or close to) its historical moving averages. This way, you can quickly cut away to the fares that are worthwhile and “really” on sale. List provided on our website in the full blog post (below, if you’re reading the full post now).

  • Key Notes: Sale covers mid-August to November. Ends Thursday. They provide a coupon-code that you don’t really need to plug in: “FALL40”. 
  • Additional Savings: Sam’s Club is selling $500 Southwest gift cards for $449 [linked]. You can save an additional $50 on Southwest flights if you travel often enough or with a big enough group to burn through the gift card credit.
  • Other destinations, not on this list, are on sale, but didn’t make the cut.
  • Carry-on and checked bag are allowed for free. Southwest doesn’t charge change fees.
  • Use the fare calendar to pull up the fares [linked].
  • Sales like this on Southwest are often matched by other airlines, before committing to a purchase, do a check on BookingBuddy, Kayak, or Skyscanner to see if any other airline is offering a better deal.
  • Some fares in this list will have poor availability.
