Delta and United have round-trip flights from Austin and San Antonio (AUS, SAT) to Tokyo (HND) for $726-$740 or Geneva (GVA) for $494-$515, both with a connection. Tokyo flights January to February. Geneva flights January to March.
Delta allows one carry-on bag and one personal item for free. You can avoid paying for seat selection by accepting the randomly assigned seat at the gate.
American Airlines, United, and Delta still have competing round-trip flights from Austin and San Antonio (AUS, SAT) to Tokyo or Osaka (HND/NRT, KIX) for $729-$756 with a connection. Flights January to February. 7-day minimum stay required.

Prices to Japan have been in this price range since November.
This may go lower, it was $617-$629 in August and September of this year.

Southwest will announce a domestic airfare sale tomorrow, but their prices are already on their calendar. There is a VERY GOOD CHANCE that prices drop again when competitors match. So you may want to wait a bit before booking to see what pans out. (These are still good prices for the route, which is why I’m mentioning them now.)
British Airways, American Airlines, Delta, and Virgin Atlantic have matched their round-trip fares from Austin and San Antonio (AUS, SAT) to Paris (CDG) in the $478-$524 price-range with a connection. Flights December to March. No Friday or Saturday departures. No Christmas dates available.
