Hopper is having a flash sale where they allow for up to 25% off select hotels and up to $100 off select flights. The full list of todays discounts is available on our website. These Hopper deals are vary common, usually once a month or so. You can easily be informed when these Hopper sales start by setting up your app notifications.
Pair this sale with a quick Google Flights search and you can usually get a fairly decent flight pairing.
This sale is about on par with what we’ve seen in the past. There are a lot of crappy $15/$20 discounts in the list, so we’re focusing on the discounts that are greater than $25. They’re at the top of the list with a star. Watch out for websites and blogs that are pairing this deal with one-way Spirit/Frontier trash fares for click-bait titles like “Free flights”. In all of those cases you’re just saving “$x” from the coupon on a one-way flight you’ll want to avoid. You can usually get a better value by using the discount on an airline that doesn’t charge fees for bag or seat selection.

Hawaiian Airlines has round-trip flights from Austin (AUS) to Honolulu (HNL) for $398-$410, NONSTOP. Flights August to November. Very few weekends available. Origin/Destination reversible. No Thanksgiving dates.
A bit more expensive than previous deals with a connection, but I prefer flying NONSTOP if possible.

American Airlines and jetBlue have round-trip flights from Austin (AUS) to New York (JFK) for $158-$168, NONSTOP. Flights August to November. Weekends available. No Thanksgiving dates.
Southwest has round-trip flights from Austin (AUS) to New Orleans (MSY) for $118-$138, with a connection. $59-$79 each-way. Cheapest flights are midweek, with weekend dates about +$20 more expensive. If you’re traveling with multiple people, you can save a little more by buying the $250 Sam’s Club gift-card which is on sale for $239. Flight availability is usually between September to November. Origin/Destination reversible. No major holiday dates were found.
A Carry-on bag, two checked bags, and also a personal item is allowed for free on Southwest.

American Airlines has round-trip flights from Austin (AUS) to Saint Croix (STX) for $261-$281 with a connection. Flights August, September, November, February, March, and April. Extended weekends available. Origin/Destination reversible. No Thanksgiving dates.
A Carry-on bag and also a personal item is allowed for free on American. You can avoid paying for seat selection by accepting the randomly assigned seat at the gate.

Costco put the $500 Southwest gift card on sale for $429.99 [linked]. If you travel on Southwest enough to burn through the gift-card value it’s an easy way to save $70 on flights.
